Side A: Aliens At Home - Asphodel Side B: Paranoid Zen - 1-800-Ohm-Shiva Aliens at Home is a duo composed of London based Memory 9 and San Francisco based Redivider. Well known in their respective circles, each are heavily respected for their live performances, which comprise of real-time composing, editing, remixing and mashing with their personally designed Max/MSP patch. Each with their own solo albums, as Aliens At Home the duo have released a small pile of EP's including an extraterrestrial invasion on Milan's Speedcore scene on the label S.A.N.A. The pair have performed from Shanghai to all the fashion capitals of Europe (London, Paris, Milan) and all across America from Boston and New York to San Francisco and Los Angeles. For the A-side, Aliens at Home drop a slowed down, IDM infused Glitch-Hoppy track entitled "Asphodel." Featuring an undulating bass which characterizes the tune and a very convincing sense of space which lulls the listener into the alien world. A highly skilled modulation of filters punctuate the song's many phases, which make the strings and atmospherics as enjoyable to kick back and listen to as the kick and clap are to get up and dance to. "Asphodel" is a very clean and smartly produced tune. The B-side is produced by Boston based PsyDM duo Paranoid Zen. "1-800-Ohm-Shiva" starts in an enchanting land where a heavily processed Siren chants a call and reply ode to Shiva. While the thick kicks and bass carry a rhythm one could easily imagine being hypnotized to by a herd of slow and sultry belly-dancers, the landscape slowly distorts and falls apart. A storm of noise ensues and communication breaks down which is when an operator redirects the caller to a Glitch Hop-esque drop. A heavy kick and snare follow, with a nasty panning bass and some chopped up vocal action. Psychedelic at the very least, the tune melts away leaving the listener wondering what happened to the last 8 minutes. Distributed By
